Baylen's best friend from his younger years was in town from California this past week. We spent last Saturday with them roller blading in the rain at the park. After the park we went to Eric's parents house and hung out there until 9:00 that night. His parents were very patient with us and the huge group of little kids that were going CRAZY! It was cool to see Baylen have such a good time and to hear some of their reminiscing of their teenage years together. Here are a few pictures that we snapped of the group.
I have a new cousin her name is Bailey . She is so cute. I got to go see her at the hospital yesterday. I got to hold her two different times. She is very very small. Maybe when I get older I can babysit her. Here are Raylee, Hailey, and Bailey. My mom calls them the Three Amigos. Here are all the cousins together. Ashlyn loved sitting with Emmy in her bed.
We live in the absolute coolest culdesac ever!!! If money weren't an option, we would build onto our house and stay here forever! All of our neighbors are so amazing and the kids have soooo many friends to play with. They have spent the month of June just playing their days away outside together. I'm not exactly sure what, specifically, they are playing for 10 hours a day, but they are in heaven! Before summer started, I did lots of research and found something fun and free that we could do around Davis County almost every day of the week. However, the kids haven't wanted to do any of it. If they had it their way, they would play with their friends 24/7.
On Thursday night we decided to get together with all of our neighbors and do a movie on the side of our house. We have the perfect house for outdoor movies. They entire side of our house is windowless, and we have a ton of grass on that same side. We had a blast! The kids loved being together and LOVED the treat table. We ended up watching one show with all the kids. Then we put them all to bed and started watching a "big person" movie. We didn't get very far into it before it started raining, but we had a good time even though it was short.
Anna, Mickell and Aubrielle... Katelyn and Ashlyn...
On Tuesday we had a family shower for Emily. It was fun getting together to visit with the Bird clan. After lunch and presents, we decided to take advantage of the warm weather and spend some time at the new Riverton splash pad. The kids had a blast playing with each other in the water. It was hard to get them to stand still long enough to get pictures. However, we managed to snap a few. They were having lots of fun so I'll pretend like this didn't completely gross me out...
We've had the amazing opportunity to attend two temple open houses in the past few months. In Februrary we went to the Draper Temple open house with my family. I loved being there with my kids. They were in awe with everything. On the way home I asked what their favorite room was. They all said the sealing rooms. Tanner made up his own song about temples. If I were a smart mom, I would have written it down. However, you'll just have to trust me that it was very cute. Last Saturday we were able to attend the Oquirr (why can't I spell that word?) Mountain Temple Open House with Grandma Sillito. Grandma was our personal tour guide since she works there. Probably the most memorable part of that day is that the Angel Moroni was struck by lightening just 30 minutes before we got there. This picture kind of shows the black down the trumpet and arm.
When I was called to Young Womens, I have to admit I was a little nervous to attend Girls Camp. However, now that it's over, I'll be the first to admit that camp is even better as a leader!!! I had so much fun. Maybe it's the fact that the girls totally made me feel like I was sixteen again. Or maybe it was that fact that as a leader you get to choose which activities you participate in!
Our theme for camp was "Boot Camp- Who will you be." It was complete with dog tags, rankings, work out drills, and tons of camo! We were able to go up to some property at Bear Lake. It was soooo nice.
Here are a few pictures of my cute girlies...
This a pic of the entire group in our camo gear. We dressed up and played hours and hours of steal the flag. This is Rose... "Rose" was actually the camp leader's sister, Emily, dressed up to be a little different. Sarah introduced her to the girls and said that she needed to take care of her during the first day of camp. Rose pretended to be a little mentally handicapped. She stayed with us the entire day. That night she left. A few hours later Sarah's sister, Emily, came and did a fireside about befriending others. At the end of her talk she pulled her costume out and explained that she was Rose.
This exerience was amazing to watch. I knew about everything before so it was so neat to see so many girls show a genuine concern for Rose. It was also cool to see everyone's faces when Emily revealed her costume. I think this is an experience that the girls will remember forever!
They say that time flies when you're having fun. I guess that explains a lot because I honestly can't believe that Hailey is now a PRESCHOOL GRADUATE!!! It was a great year and I couldn't be happier with her preschool experience.
She had a cute little graduation ceremony that Grandma Whipple and Grandpa Sillito were able to attend with me.
The ceremony began with the kids singing a few songs. They also performed the macarana for us. Too cute!!! The teachers had each child come up one at a time and told a little about them. Miss Jenny said that Hailey was really quiet and was good at giving the teachers "the look" like they were crazy. They said that she is a sweetheart. She then received her diploma...
We love, love, love Hailey's teachers... Miss Mary, Miss Jenny, Miss Katie, and Mr. Taylor Congratulations to our little graduate!!! They highlight of the day, according to Hailey, would be that Grandma Whipple took us out to McDonalds. Thanks Grandma!
Memorial Day was one big party this year. We started out by meeting everyone at the cemetery to put flowers on Grandpa and Michael's graves. It's a neat tradition to be there together as a family. I think Raylee and Ashlyn were bonding with Emmy's baby...
The girls- a little chaotic!
The boys
The cousins
What a group!!!
After the cemetery we went to Evergreen park for a picnic and fun. The kids had fun on the playground, the guys had fun playing ultimate frisbee and soccer, and us lazy people had fun visiting.
Wow, this brings back memories of hours of Cinderella play when I was little. I swear it was just yesterday that Jeannie, Mike, Emily, and I were the ones in this carriage. For some reason Raylee and Ashlyn kept putting these raquety things on their heads.
Coo Coo..... As if this weren't enough fun for one day, we headed down to Emily and Dave's for a fun evening of swimming. The kids had a blast and could have stayed there all night. I think we'll need to make a few trips down to Utah County this summer.
Cannonball......... Isn't she the cutest pregnant person?!!!
